Sleeveless Vests

Prom is an event that every girl dreams about her entire time in high school. She dreams about what type of dress she’ll wear, what limo she’ll ride in, who her date is and what after prom activities she attends. Even with the 2011 prom season behind everyone, girls in their junior year are starting to think about what type of dresses they will wear for their prom next year.

Prom styles slow change over the years, so what is popular one year is typically popular the next. Here’s a look at some popular trends for prom dresses for 2011 and what people may see in 2012.

Bright Hot Colors

The year 2011 saw an increase in the amount of prom dresses that were made out of bright, hot neon colors. It was not uncommon to see a bright, hot pink, orange, purple or green dress on display for prom dresses.

Short Skirts

Prom dresses are typically floor length but 2011 saw the level of the skirt rise. Many prom dresses had hemlines that many adults would consider risqué. While there were plenty of knee length and longer dresses, short skirts were what was hot for 2011.

Sparkly Sequins

To add to the bright, neon colors many of 2011′s prom dresses were layered in sequins and sparkly items. Dresses were embellished with sequins on the top and sleeves, and even sewn into the lining of the dresses. These sequins really made you sparkle and shine when wearing it.

While there is no telling what the future holds, if the trends for prom dresses for 2011 are any indication, 2012 will be filled with bright colors and sparkly dresses.

There are many trends each season, and for some, the trends that are the most fun to follow are those of fashion accessories.

In fashion, accessories cover everything that is not the actual articles of clothing, themselves. Shoes, jewelry, scarves, handbags, and more are considered accessories. There are trends to follow in each of these areas and more.

One of the most popular and overwhelming trends recently has been in the handbag area of accessories. Handbags have recently gotten bigger, brighter, and bolder. Women are showing off their personalities simply by showing off their handbags. A handbag or purse can say a lot about a person. For example, if you only carry around a very small handbag in a neutral or muted tone, people may see you as someone who is only interested in the necessary. You aren’t a flashy person, and you don’t feel the need to carry around a lot of stuff.

What’s in Style for Summer?

This spring and summer, fashion will be taking a new turn.  Many clothing lines are offering new selections based on intriguing colors and patterns.  No matter the shopper’s preference, there will be something for everyone.

 

For women, colors can be bright, muted, or in stark contrast within the same outfit.  Really, anything goes.  Many people are gravitating toward lighter hues such as white, cream, beige, and light brown tones.  Of course, these neutral colors work easily in many situations and on many body types, so they are easily the favorite with a variety of shoppers.  For the bolder image, bright colors such as orange combined with contrasting black and white patterns can accent curves or hide undesirable features with ease.

Simply put, shoes can make or break an ensemble.  Choosing shoes that have classic style is not the only option this summer. Mens Do’s and Don’ts

There are some men out there who could use a few words of advice when it comes to dressing themselves.

It is of importance to match your shoes to your belt.  Make sure to wear the same color belt as shoes and vise versa.  It doesn’t have to be the same shade in color but do your best to match it as best as possible.

Make sure to wear the appropriate kind of socks.  Try to keep to the thin materials and colors that can match just about everything you wear.  You socks should match your trousers.  If you are wearing black trousers, you wouldn’t want to wear brown socks.

If you are wearing a dress shirt it is recommend to wear cuff links.  Do not create a new hole in your shirt to show off your new cuff links.

Get a belt that is the right size for you.

Apply cologne lightly.  Approximately 3 sprays from your bottle will be more then enough.  Make sure to get your chest and both sides of your ears.

Most jeans or slacks come with belt loops.  If they do, wear a belt.   Remember to match the color to your shoes of choice.

Be sure to clean out your wallet periodically.  It is very unattractive to have a man with a huge wallet with junk coming out of all openings.

When wanting to wear jewelry keep it light.  Jewelry is used as an accessory to an outfit, not for it to coincide with the outfit.

Spring Break Do’s and Don’t

Making sure you have the coolest hip in trend at the beach or by poolside can become complicated.  You always want to look cute, and sexy, but if you happen to forget to take off your necklace while at the beach it might be very appealing with a bunch of sand covered on it.  Look for a hat that has a broad trim.  Make sure to keep it lightweight and that it keeps the rays out of your face.  What is fashionably cute it accenting your hair with a fresh flower.  Simple earrings such as duds are good if you cannot live without jewelry pool side.

It is recommended not to have your bra strap showing – One thing that is a no no is a clearly visible bra strap.  Color has no effect.  Just because it may be brown in color it is still visible to the eye.  Instead try wearing a tank top that is broader in the strap then the bra strap so the bra strap will get covered up.

Do try what’s now called a maxi dress – It may not be the most appealing to the eye, but it is the most comfortable.  You can put on some sexy high heels or platform shoes accentuate the dress.

Leave all of your leather shoes at home.  Spring is not the time for your cute little leather high heels.

Buy clothes that are fitting to your body type.  All to often girls purposely buy clothes that are ten sizes to small.  We can’t see what size you are wearing and frankly we don’t care.  Buy clothes that look decent on you, not that make you look trashy.

How to Shop Wisely

Many of us see an item of clothing hanging on a rack and instantly pick it up and go to the cash register to pay for it. The best way to make sure you will really look your best in the item is to try it on first. Unless you already have several of the exact same item hanging in your closet at home, it’s best to take a few minutes and try it on, not only to make sure you’re choosing the correct size, but to be assured that it will look good on your figure.If you simply purchase it without trying it on, you may get home and find that it looked better on the hanger then it does on you! Not everyone can wear the most popular styles of clothing and look good in them, but by trying the clothing on first, you’ll know for sure whether you think the look is flattering to you personally.

 

Size matters, especially when shopping for new clothes. Many products now come from foreign countries where the size ranges may differ from what you are accustomed to. You may wear a size 10 in America, but a size 12 in China. Just because the label states that a T-shirt is a large, doesn’t necessarily mean that the shirt will actually be a large size compared to another brand. When shopping, look for the size you normally wear, then try it on to make sure it fits. Keep in mind that many fabrics shrink when dried. This is especially true of cotton.
