Mens Do’s and Don’ts

There are some men out there who could use a few words of advice when it comes to dressing themselves.

It is of importance to match your shoes to your belt.  Make sure to wear the same color belt as shoes and vise versa.  It doesn’t have to be the same shade in color but do your best to match it as best as possible.

Make sure to wear the appropriate kind of socks.  Try to keep to the thin materials and colors that can match just about everything you wear.  You socks should match your trousers.  If you are wearing black trousers, you wouldn’t want to wear brown socks.

If you are wearing a dress shirt it is recommend to wear cuff links.  Do not create a new hole in your shirt to show off your new cuff links.

Get a belt that is the right size for you.

Apply cologne lightly.  Approximately 3 sprays from your bottle will be more then enough.  Make sure to get your chest and both sides of your ears.

Most jeans or slacks come with belt loops.  If they do, wear a belt.   Remember to match the color to your shoes of choice.

Be sure to clean out your wallet periodically.  It is very unattractive to have a man with a huge wallet with junk coming out of all openings.

When wanting to wear jewelry keep it light.  Jewelry is used as an accessory to an outfit, not for it to coincide with the outfit.

Bridal Fashion

When you think of a Bride you think of a stunning white gown with a gorgeous veil to accentuate her dress, right?  Most brides do not feel like a Bride until they put the final touches on, with that being the veil.  The veil is a classic white see throughish type of fabric that covers the brides face in tradition.  Some brides opt not to have it cover their face, but rather extend it behind their head.  In traditional times the bride would have it cover their face and there it would remain until the husband was told to kiss the bride, then the new husband would lift her veil and extend it behind her.  Your veil choice relies solely on your wedding gown choice, your personality, and what you like.  Some can be short in length, or some might come well past the length of your gown.  Whatever you choose keep these in mind when selecting your veil.

The first thing you should ask yourself is if you absolutely need a veil for your wedding.  For expectant mothers, or second or third marriages it might not be appropriate to wear veils.

Should you choose any decoration on your veil it’s best to choose one with decoration that will be well below any decoration on your dress.  You wouldn’t want it to coincide with each other.

Keep in mind that any reflective decoration you choose will show up in photographs that have flash.

If you are going to for the antique look, don’t dye your veil to match the color of your dress.  It is not necessary for them both to match in color.

Last but not least check yourself in the mirror.  Most brides want to show off their dress, and if you have a veil that is lengthy and will cover your dress, you might need to reconsider a different veil.

Spring Break Do’s and Don’t

Making sure you have the coolest hip in trend at the beach or by poolside can become complicated.  You always want to look cute, and sexy, but if you happen to forget to take off your necklace while at the beach it might be very appealing with a bunch of sand covered on it.  Look for a hat that has a broad trim.  Make sure to keep it lightweight and that it keeps the rays out of your face.  What is fashionably cute it accenting your hair with a fresh flower.  Simple earrings such as duds are good if you cannot live without jewelry pool side.

It is recommended not to have your bra strap showing – One thing that is a no no is a clearly visible bra strap.  Color has no effect.  Just because it may be brown in color it is still visible to the eye.  Instead try wearing a tank top that is broader in the strap then the bra strap so the bra strap will get covered up.

Do try what’s now called a maxi dress – It may not be the most appealing to the eye, but it is the most comfortable.  You can put on some sexy high heels or platform shoes accentuate the dress.

Leave all of your leather shoes at home.  Spring is not the time for your cute little leather high heels.

Buy clothes that are fitting to your body type.  All to often girls purposely buy clothes that are ten sizes to small.  We can’t see what size you are wearing and frankly we don’t care.  Buy clothes that look decent on you, not that make you look trashy.

Shoes in todays world

Shoes were constructed by a gentleman by the name of Thomas Beard who was once a pilgrim.  He constructed the pair of shoes by nailing them together.  It was at that time that others had found out how to make moccasins from the Indians.  The moccasins became so popular indeed that they were sent to other countries to be bought.  America opened it’s first manufacturing site of shoes in the late 1700′s.  Since the eighteenth century leather has been a commonality among shoe makers.   With the economy these days prices of materials to make such shoes have grown increasingly expensive.  With that in mind shoe makers have turned to rubber and artificial materials for producing a pair of shoes.

On average a woman will purchase roughly 5 pairs of shoes each and every year.  The average American man will only purchase 2 pairs of shoes each year.  That should give you a clear indication who prefers shoes.  It’s always been known that the women are the shoe buyers.  It has been said the sometimes the mens shoes remain in fashion longer then the women.  How true can this be if they only purchase 2 pairs of shoes each year?  They might last longer then the average woman, but to say they will remain in fashion is a fiction.

When shoes are produced they are made in approximately 150 different sizes, lengths and widths to accommodate everyone.  At what size do they stop making the shoe?  Size 10?  Size 11?  Are shoe makers willing to make sizes bigger for the consumer if need be?  If so, how would one go about ordering directly from the manufacturer.  This information would be great to have since each individual ends up with a different size shoe.

Fashionable shoes

I’m sure at some point or another we have all been introduced to platform shoes, sandals, boots, clogs and the like.  All of these types of shoes are ancient.  How ancient you might be wondering?  These shoes are no less then 400 years old.  Most of what you find today doesn’t even remotely compare to those of the European Era.  Today these shoes are much more flatter then those of recent days.  Shoe styles have and still do represent those of the upper class. In different countries the sandals represented or showed rank.  Most people went barefoot or constructed sandals made out of palm leaves.  In ancient Greece it was unheard of if women had less then 20 pairs of shoes with a shoe to match for every outfit or special occasion.  It is a common theory for some cultures for newlyweds to have the father of the bride throw his shoes to signify charge from father to husband.  In other cultures it was common for couples to exchange shoes rather then rings.  You might signify the Dutch with wooden shoes.  Japan is known for wooden shoes mounted on blocks that can be as high as three or four inches high that’s been the custom for many many years.  In fourteenth century points of shoes grew so big that shoes had to be tied to the persons leg just below the knee.  Just about everyone did not like fashion of the pointy shoes.  Most claimed that they weren’t able to kneel correctly in a church.  In some place the length of the shoe was limited to a particular size.  In the sixteenth century women began wearing high heeled shoes so tall in fact that the person wearing the shoe was literally standing on her tip toes.  Heels became so high eventually that they weren’t worn due to the height of them.  Prostitutes were known to wear Stilettos, and in some instances the shoes were banned because of the death rate.

Those were the days!

These days when we look for shoes, we tend to look and buy the design we like rather then the feel for comfort.  Shoes all too often cause numerous problems including but not limited to corns, calluses, and arthritis.  Not only do shoes protect ones feet, and keep them warm but shoes have been looked at for years as a fashion statement.  It wasn’t until the early twentieth century that shoes became a significant role in fashion.  Dresses for women became shorter, so therefore people were able to see their shoes.  Shoes were often made to reflect if they were for a male, female or child.  Pumps also known as high heels were worn to make a woman look that of great height. No other shoe out there has had much controversy as to sexuality, or elegance as that of the heel. Heels were also looked at as a ‘man getter’.  Stiletto shoes made women look sensual.  Most women who wore stilettos were banned from entering public buildings because the shoes caused severe damage to floors.  When the mini skirt was invented in the early 1960′s stilettos were attached to boots to make the ladies legs stand out.  Stilettos quickly went out of style.  In the 1950′s stores that sold shoes often had an x-ray machine that when the customer would put on their shoes, they would take an x-ray to see the bones inside the shoe to determine the correct size for the customer.  It wasn’t until the early 1960′s that shoes were made with more color and were made with different textures, such as snake skin, crocodile skin, and leather.  Platform shoes became a hit during the 1970′s.  This was a time where many individuals expieremented with sex and drugs as well as fashion.  Most would dress to surprise everyone with vibrant colors and platform shoes.    As time and fashion changes so will that of shoes.

Shopping To Prepare For A Trip Abroad

For many people, shopping in preparation for traveling abroad can be almost as fun as the trip itself. This is particularly true if your travel destination has a significantly different climate than the one that you’re currently living in, because it will require you to buy items specifically for your trip. Although this can be a source of stress for some, there’s no reason that it can’t be a smooth and pleasant experience, particularly if you take time to plan ahead and figure out what you really need to be shopping for.

Consider the activities that you’ll be participating in during your travels. For example, if you plan to engage in sports, biking or hiking, you’ll want clothes that can hold up through those activities. If you’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors, it would be a good idea to search for clothes that are made out of materials that dry quickly. This way, if you’re caught out in a rainstorm, you won’t be miserable for the entire day.

Convenience and portability is also very important to think about when shopping for clothes that you’ll wear during your travels. Many travel shops sell clothes that can be easily washed and dried by hand, and can be folded up into a small size to stow into a suitcase. Although these sorts of outfits are usually more expensive than clothes that are not designed especially for travelers, you’ll often realize that they’re well worth the money spent, particularly if you do a large amount of traveling.

By keeping your travel plans in mind as you shop, you’ll be well on your way to enjoying your pre-trip shopping excursions as well as your global travels!

Taking The Mystery Out Of Shopping For Shoes Online

The vast availability of shoes online, often at deeply discounted prices makes online shoe shopping a very attractive option for many people. However, it is easy to understand why you might be hesitant to buy your shoes online, especially if you have not done so previously. One of the main reasons that people often stop short of buying their shoes online is because since everyone’s feet are unique, and since sizes are not uniform across all brands, it can be hard to ensure that your new shoes will fit well, if you’re just browsing through a website and don’t have the advantage of trying on the shoes in a store.

Therefore, it’s a good idea to venture into the world of online shoe shopping by only purchasing a brand of shoes that you already own. Normally, shoe sizes are at least consistent within a particular brand, so you can feel pretty certain that if you already have a pair of Reeboks in your closet that fit well, you can buy another style of Reebok shoes online and be confident that there’s a good chance they’ll also be suitable.

If you still have your doubts, make sure that you understand any applicable return and shipping policies before you make your purchase. Many online destinations for buying shoes offer their customers free shipping and free returns, as long as the return is made within a specific time frame. Althogh it can be upsetting to order shoes only to find out that they don’t fit correctly, at least if you purchase your shoes from a merchant that has a great return policy, you won’t be wasting your time and money.

Finding Great Fashion Deals Online

You can get some great fashion deals online, but you have to know where to look. There are a lot of sites offering clothing and other fashionable items, and some of them are much better on price and quality than others are. If you aren’t sure which ones to choose, you may need to do a little bit of research – or let a site do some for you. When you find a site where you can shop a lot of different deals, it’s a great way to consolidate anything that you need to find into one-stop shopping. You can compare prices, quality, style, and all kinds of other things about the fashion accessories and clothing that you’re considering, which helps you have a good experience and get what you really want.

If you visit a site like Offers.com, you’ll be treated to plenty of options, and you can find high-end fashions that you like and that are actually affordable. You’ll be able to find information about the designer, the manufacturer, and the quality and style of the clothing you’re considering. You can also see what sizes you can get it in, so that you know whether you want to buy it and whether it should fit properly when it arrives. It’s not enjoyable to pay a lot of money for great clothing and then have it not fit you, so avoiding that is best.

Also, make sure that you only use reliable sites. Who knows what you’ll really be getting if you buy from a site that’s not reputable. You could end up with serious problems that way, and that’s not something you want to deal with – especially when high-end (and costly) fashion is involved. When you shop reputable sites, you know that you’ll get what you ordered and any problems will be handled professionally

Smart Shoe Shopping

Your shoes are one of the most important types of items that you wear. Not only can they enhance an outfit, but if you shop wisely and find something that’s comfortable as well as fashionable, your shoes can help you look great even the events of your day require you to stand for long periods of time.

Whether you are choosing a pair of shoes from your closet as you’re getting ready for work in the morning, or shopping at the mall for the perfect way to complement your newest outfit, consider the usual weather patterns in your area, especially if you are buying the shoes for everyday use. For example, if you live in a place that gets a lot of rainfall throughout the year, you may want to buy shoes that can hold up to wet conditions and have soles with good traction. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, particularly if you are buying a pair of shoes for a special event, but in general, if you want to get the best value for the money that you spend, choose shoes that are versatile as well as stylish.

We all have times where we choose to sacrifice comfort in order to be fashionable, but ideally, your shoes should be a balance between fashion and comfort. Make sure to choose the proper size, and ensure that the footbed is wide enough so that your foot can rest on it without being cramped. Finally, if you know that you will be on your feet for several hours at a time, consider buying special inserts to further support your foot as you are wearing your favorite pair of shoes.
